We are so excited to return All Of Us Strangers to the big screen at the Irish Film Institute and to welcome Andrew Haigh himself in person, who will be in conversation following the screening with his friend and artistic collaborator, the Russell Tovey. 

The conversation will be followed by an audience question and answer session where we encourage fans and budding filmmakers to bring along your curiosity and make the most of this masterclass opportunity to hear from one of our finest voices in film. 

In addition, we are so happy to announce that Andrew will be the recipient of this year’s GAZE Vanguard Award in recognition of his ground-breaking work in queer storytelling in film and television, and his contribution to the field at large.

Nel 2006 con il brano Dear Mr. President ha criticato l’allora presidente degli USA Bush. In Stupid Girls ha demolito l’ossessione della società per le donne senza veli attaccando la rappresentazione femminile nelle clip dei colleghi rapper per poi ribadire che il corpo delle donne non esiste solo ad uso e consumo degli uomini.

I suoi discorsi di ringraziamento ai premi ricevuti sono stati di grande ispirazione per le donne di tutto il mondo. Agli MTV Video Music Awards del 2017, quando ha ricevuto il Michael Jackson Vanguard Award,  ha pronunciato il suo discorso più significativo partendo da un’esperienza di sua figlia Willow che lamentava di essere discriminata dai compagni di scuola che le dicevano che sembrava un ragazzo.

Dal palco ha lanciato a sua figlia e a tutto il mondo un messaggio chiaro: “Mi vedi far crescere i capelli? Willow ha risposto: ‘No mamma’. Mi vedi cambiare il mio corpo? ‘No mamma’. Mi vedi cambiare il modo in cui mi presento al mondo? ‘No mamma’. Mi vedi esaurire le arene di tutto il mondo? ‘Sì mamma’. Ok allora, piccola, non cambiamo. Prendiamo la ghiaia nel nostro guscio e facciamone una perla. E aiutiamo altre persone a cambiare in modo che possano vedere più tipi di bellezza”.

In difesa della libertà d’espressione, durante il Trustfall Tour in Florida, nel 2023, ha regalato 2.000 libri messi al bando, dall’Individual Freedom Act, che impedisce i corsi sulla diversità o contro i pregiudizi nelle aziende e la legge soprannominata «Don’t say gay», che limita la discussione di argomenti Lgbtq+ nelle scuole.

P!nk è una donna e un’artista potente e inarrestabile che non manca di esprime le sue opinioni e di ispirare nuove e vecchie generazioni.
